Financial Support and Benefits Advice

Yorkshire's Brain Tumour Charity

Back to hub

Yorkshire’s Brain Tumour Charity provide expert welfare advice and, where possible, local hardship grants.

Welfare Advice

Navigating benefits and financial support can be complex, particularly during a time of illness. YBTC connects individuals and families with specialist welfare advice to help them:

  1. Understand what financial support they may be entitled to, including benefits and allowances
  2. Apply for disability-related benefits, such as Personal Independence Payments (PIP) or Universal Credit
  3. Access financial assistance schemes for medical-related travel or equipment
  4. Find guidance on employment rights and flexible working options

Hardship Grants

To further ease the financial impact of a brain tumour diagnosis, YBTC actively seeks local funding opportunities across Yorkshire. By working with trusts and community-based initiatives, the charity helps secure hardship grants that can provide practical support with essentials such as food, utilities, and other daily costs. This financial support is designed to reduce stress and help families focus on what matters most during a difficult time.
