1-2-1 Brain Tumour Support
Yorkshire's Brain Tumour Charity
Yorkshire’s Brain Tumour Charity offers 1-2-1 support to ensure that no one has to face the impact of a brain tumour diagnosis alone.
1-2-1 Wellbeing Calls
The charity’s experienced staff provide free and confidential phone calls, usually lasting around 30 minutes. These calls are designed to:
- Check in on wellbeing and provide emotional support
- Offer a safe, non-judgemental space to talk openly
- Provide information and guidance on available resources
- Connect individuals with other services or organisations that may help
1-2-1 Peer Support
YBTC also provides trained peer support volunteers who have personal experience of brain tumours, either as patients, carers, or through bereavement. Speaking with someone who has lived through similar experiences can help reduce feelings of isolation and offer reassurance. Volunteers can:
- Provide a listening ear and emotional encouragement
- Share practical tips from their own experiences
- Offer reassurance for those feeling alone during difficult times
- Support with specific situations, for example one volunteer has undergone Transorbital Meningioma Surgery and can talk to others preparing for this
These services are free and available to anyone affected by a brain tumour across Yorkshire.
